 With garlic odor, insoluble in water, slightly soluble in benzene, toluene,ether and terebinth etc . , easily soluble in carbon bisulfide and liquid ammonia ; melting point : 44 . 1 °C , boiling point : 281 °C , relative density 1 . 82 ; self-ignition point : 35-45 °C , with severe toxicity .
2 , Use
Used in producing sulfide of red phosphorus, phosphorus, chloride of phosphorus and phosphoric acid etc . ; also used in producing explosive, pesticide etc . .
